We are a design studio experimenting with very divers textile techniques, focusing on designs which elevate textile beyond the traditional applications. It's all about the material we work with. In co-creation with architects, we design the ultimate application of the textile with the aim of raising the project to unprecedented levels of quality.

What do you do with the leftover felt strips from the production of Plectere? The game of playing with transparency in this thick wool felt material resulted in a graceful pattern. A new acoustic element in which the strips are sewed in large and smaller curves, flipping them to one or both sides, and with that making a new visual structure. In ecru or colour, depending on what's left… so nothing of the beautiful wool material is lost. Re-Play!

The acoustics in the entrance hall of the state-of-the-art new headquarters of Vanderlande had to be improved. By using an absorbing material for a new design window covering and to place is with a cavity to the glass, many sound waves could be absorbed. The result was surprisingly good. Studio Petra Vonk created a variation on PLECTERE.
